Today's Special-Cooking Class for those with Disabilities

For ages 13+

$85 per class • $400 per semester

Having a basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen skills and learning to prepare simple meals can improve
independence, increase confidence, and provide for better nutrition. Our cooking classes not only teach, but they are also a means of enjoyment and socialization. Working in a kitchen can also provide both physical and occupational therapy. While strengthening abilities in the kitchen, our participants are also gaining knowledge in Consumer Science and Spending, and utilizing math, reading, and science skills.

We also encourage our students to use their sense of touch, taste, and smell to further develop their cognitive and
perception functions which may broaden their eating repertoire. As you can see, there are many benefits to our cooking classes and the rewards can be valuable to both children and adults with disabilities.

Dates: 1/8, 2/5, 3/5, 4/2, 5/7
